October Proved Ford Sales Continue to be Strong

October proved to be a great month for Ford, they made out with more treats than tricks. For starters, the brand posted its best retail sales numbers since 2004, with 142,487 vehicles delivered and a year-over-year increase of 15%.

Breaking it down to specific segments, passenger vehicles rose 19% year-over-year, SUVs up 9% and the ever-popular Ford truck lineup increased by 14%. Looking more closely at the Ford F-Series trucks, those sold slightly over 60,000 units six months in a row.

Other noteworthy vehicles include the Ford Fusion and the Escape, boasting 21,740 and 22,253 units respectively. With a 71% increase, this October was praised as the Fusion's best ever sales month.

John Felice, the vice president of U.S. marketing, sales, and service for Ford, attributes the automaker's best October retail sales month to models like the Fusion and Escape's successes.

"October was simply an outstanding retail performance, as consumers continued to choose Ford for great fuel efficiency, styling and value at all levels of the market," Felice explained.1

The 2014 Ford Fusion is a great example of this trifecta of characteristics. The standard 2.5-liter four-barrel motor pushes 175-hp while attaining an EPA-estimated 34 mpg on the highway.

Styling is another of the Fusion's numerous specialties. Its strong front-end matched with a smooth form is an impeccable combination for drivers who like to look good in their car.

With a starting price of the Fusion is $21,195MSRP, which isn't bad considering the great Ford financing options available at our dealership here in Brampton.
